GOD-TV Article about Todd Bentley

Posted in Revival with tags , , , , , on September 26, 2008 by schlyce

Let me apologize up front for the length of this post.  But I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to speak on this subject and until today just didn’t feel led to do so…

With regards to Todd Bentley and the Lakeland Outpouring, I don’t know how many of you followed or knew about the revival that was going on in Lakeland, Florida earlier this year, but it was hailed by many to be the greatest outpouring since Azuza Street and by many others as blasphemy.  There were many reports of healing, salvation and even people being raised from the dead, so needless to say it was controversial.

While I didn’t actually go to the revival (although I know personally several people that did), I did watch it some on the Internet.   I can affirm that the presence of God was very strong in the services, even over the Internet.  There were several times that I would weep because of the Holy Spirit’s presence as I watched.

Well, the revival ended abruptly a month or so ago when the news that Todd Bently,  the unorthodox tattooed leader of the revival, was separating from his wife came out.   I followed the press surrounding the revival pretty closely via the Internet while it was going on, and have continued to do so since it’s ending.  I’ve read all kinds of things about Todd and his theology, which I agree is questionable in some areas, and I’ve also followed the leaders comments that stood with him and against him during the revival to find out how they would react.

Honestly, my heart is grieved by most of it as I see the glaring division that exists between brothers and sisters in Christ.  But, every once and awhile I come across something that I feel matches the heart of God on the whole situation.  Today was one of those days, so I thought I’d pass it along.  It’s an email that I received from GodTV.  Here’s the link to it.  Let me know what you think:  http://www.god.tv/lakeland080925.

As for me, it just serves to confirm in my heart the mission of this ministry.  Regardless of what we think about Todd Bentley or the revival, there are hundreds or thousands of  lost and hurting people out there  that are in need of SERIOUS miracles.   That’s why they flocked to see Jesus and that’s why the revival took off like wild fire.  People want and need to experience the power and presence of God!  The enemy we are facing is real and still out to kill, steal and destroy.  Which is why this ministry will not stop, turn back, or be afraid to preach that Jesus is still in the miracle business and that anyone that believes this is in the perfect position to receive one!  I just wish that the Body of Christ would stop fighting each other, pray for Todd and his marriage, and unite against the real enemy!

Until nexttime…

God Bless,

minconf_08

Next week is Andrew Wommack’s minister’s conference and I’m really excited to be going.  My dear friend and mentor Pastor Barlow will be in town for the whole week and I’m just expecting great things from the Lord.  It was one year ago, at this conference last year, that Brian and I made our final arrangements to move to Colorado.  The whole trip last year was such a divine appointment.  I’m expecting nothing less this time around!  I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!

The Miracle Center (A Place for Prayer and Healing…)

Posted in Schlyce Jimenez Ministries with tags , , , , , , , , , , on September 20, 2008 by schlyce

I’ve had a vision in my heart, for several years now, to open a prayer & healing center where people could come to seek the Lord, fast, pray, and receive healing, deliverance and miracles.

Well today, the need for such a place was dramatically confirmed, when two of my closest friends from college emailed me separately about their serious need for a miracle.  One is facing brain surgery on Monday to remove a brain tumor that has wrapped itself around her spine and the other one was asking me to pray for their miraculous deliverance from drugs and alcohol.

My heart just broke for both of them after reading their emails.  Not because I doubt God’s willingness and power to intervene in both their situations, but because I know what it is like to desperately need a miracle and not know how to get one.

You see, my journey to wholeness has been a long one.  I remember spending years in therapy without results because the root of my problems were spiritual.  I also remember spending years praying fruitless prayers because I didn’t understand the authority of the believer.  But probably the worst thing I remember was when I was under the greatest spiritual attack, I didn’t know anyone that knew how to fight the devil.  Everyone I knew was either afraid of him or didn’t believe in him.  Also, I didn’t know anyone personally at the time that had experienced a miracle.  So as a result, I suffered.  It would have been so awesome if I would have had a place to go for prayer, healing and deliverance.  I needed all three desperately!

So, that’s why I have such a desire to have a place for people to come and experience the power of God and learn how to operate in the supernatural realm.  So agree with me in prayer would you?  I recently learned that the Old Town Guesthouse, which is the place where we’ve been holding our Healing Boot Camps and Intercessory Prayer Training, is for sale!  Honestly, its the perfect place to start a prayer and healing center.  And I truly believe that it’s no coincidence that we’re there, so please pray that God’s exact blueprint, timing, and plan for the vision would be accomplished!

Here’s some pictures of the facilities to give you an idea of just how wonderful a place it could be!

It’s really a beautiful building!

This would be a great meeting room for prayer, bible study and counseling!

This is the room we’ve already been using for training.  It would make a great sanctuary as well!

The foundational scripture for the vision is Mark 10:27 –

“With men it is impossible, but not with God:  for with God all things are possible.”

so please, keep my friends and the vision for The Miracle Center lifted up in prayer.

God bless you and keep walking by faith!

The Jesus Show – A Friday Night Party!?!

Posted in The Jesus Show with tags , , , , , on September 14, 2008 by schlyce

party_time_top

I remember a time in my life when the idea of going to church on a Friday night would have been ridiculous.  For those of you that knew me “pre-Jesus,”  you know that’s true.  Never in a million years would I have thought that you could actually have fun.  But guess what?  I’m having the time of my life at the Jesus Show every week.  Nothing, and I mean nothing tops the presence of God.  I heard a guy say one time “there’s no high like the Most High,” and I have to admit there really isn’t.  And trust me when I say that I would know if there was. But honestly, I can truly testify that that Ephesians 5:18 isn’t just an irrelevant suggestion, it’s fact!  Being filled with the Holy Spirit is way better than wine!

Prayer & Worship with Dutch Sheets This Week!

Posted in The Jesus Show with tags , , , , on September 9, 2008 by schlyce

Dutch Sheets For those of you in Colorado Springs, you may have heard about how Dutch Sheet’s church has been hosting 24/7 prayer and worship for the last several months.  Well, this week is the final week of their 90 day initiative.  So on Thursday through Saturday of this week, they are renting out the Phil Long Expo Center for three days of city wide prayer and worship.  I’m organizing a group of us from The Jesus Show to go over on Thursday sometime, so if you’re interested in going with us, stayed tuned for more information.  It’s sure to be an anointed time.  I have gone over to the church a couple of times and it was really awesome.  I truly believe that this is just one more indication that the Lord is planning to do something big here in Colorado Springs!

Blessings,

The new Jesus Show Web site is now live!  We partnered with a wonderful talented web designer/Pastor John Burton.  The wonderful thing about working with John has been the fact that not only does he design great web sites, but because he’s also heads up a lively and fruitful prayer ministry, he really understands how to harness the power of the Internet to spread the gospel.  So go to www.jesusshow.org to check out the new site and be sure to let John and me know what you think!

Great Prayer Meeting!

Posted in Schlyce Jimenez Ministries, The Jesus Show with tags , on September 5, 2008 by schlyce

Life is short, pray hard

We had an awesome time in prayer tonight at the Old Town Guesthouse.  It is wonderful to see how God is connecting people to the vision and giving them a heart to pray.  Some of the key things we prayed over tonight were for:

  1. Additional anointed musicians and worship leaders to be added to the ministry.
  2. Clarity of vision and wisdom, especially in the areas of marketing, media, organization and ministry leadership.
  3. The Spirit of unity to permeate the ministry to bring unity to the body of Christ.
  4. The correct positioning of people  in helps positions in the ministry.
  5. An increase in miracles and the number of miracle workers being trained and sent out from the ministry.

There were others, but these were some of the biggies.  Also, for those of you that have a heart to pray for us, our weekly prayer confessions have been added to the download section below.  Remember, the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much – so pray away!

Blessings,

Schlyce
